Rob Maduna started the match with the kick off. A collision led to Motolong getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Nelson Nkadimeng hit a great ball. Rob Makweni hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Ivan Serage hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Shumani Nhlapo hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Nelson Nkadimeng scored 0-1 in the 12th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Edries Mayoyo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Rob Maduna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Stanton Mandla tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Motolong booed when Atlantis FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ivan Serage didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edries Mayoyo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Takalani Mhlathe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 42ndth minute of the game Gary Josephs who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Atlantis FC's Edries Mayoyo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 45 minutes of play, Motolong's Nelson Nkadimeng made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Edries Mayoyo was left in no man's land by his defense there! After the first half Motolong were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Stanton Mandla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rob Maduna in the 52nd minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 59 minutes, Edries Mayoyo successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After a defensive mix-up in Atlantis FC's zone, Nelson Nkadimeng stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edries Mayoyo came out of the goal and Nelson Nkadimeng tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 64th minute, Nelson Nkadimeng made a precise shot to the right of Edries Mayoyo. Atlantis FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Edries Mayoyo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Takalani Mhlathe in the 71st minute of the match. Rob Maduna struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Stanton Mandla didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atlantis FC. Lucas Phakathi made in the 75th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Charles Edwards. If Ivan Serage had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rob Maduna might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Stanton Mandla. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rob Maduna ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 85th minute, Nelson Nkadimeng made a precise shot to the right of Edries Mayoyo. Atlantis FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. The Atlantis FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Motolong were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
