The referee ignored Leeudrif's protests and gave Tomas Madiya a yellow card for diving instead. Tomas Madiya hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Legako Qabi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fuzile Mbule's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. Legako Qabi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edries Steyn in the 21st minute of the match. 26 minutes into the game, Leslie Laher was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Leeudrif's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wild Elephants the free kick. Fuzile Mnisi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jomo Dinha read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. Charles Konza charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Charles Konza the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 32nd match minute, Wild Elephants was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Charles Konza to maneuver through the defense. Thabo Steyn took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 33rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Legako Qabi. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Thomas Konza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Legako Qabi went to the wrong direction when Thabo Steyn was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. In the 82nd minute Fuzile Mbule shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Legako Qabi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Leeudrif booed when Wild Elephants was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Charles Konza didn't get a good kick on the ball. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
