Atlantis FC's Edries Mayoyo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thomas Mbheki in the 36th minute of play. Atlantis FC's Edries Mayoyo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Atlantis FC from getting a goal against them. Ivan Serage sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Blue Sharks's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Rob Maduna ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Rob Maduna almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Blue Sharks's Tommy Henriksson did a great save. If Meshack Mangope had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Tommy Henriksson had great luck who in the 76thth minute grab hold of the ball when Rob Maduna from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Atlantis FC were awarded a corner in the 77th minute after Blue Sharks's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Rob Maduna took the corner. Meshack Mangope sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Rob Maduna managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlantis FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Rob Maduna was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tommy Henriksson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Blue Sharks's zone, Rob Maduna stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Atlantis FC played a much better game than Blue Sharks and deserved their victory. The Blue Sharks players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
