Mzumbane's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. After a defensive mix-up in Mzumbane's zone, Jomo Phakathi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Freddie Mhlathe came out of the goal and Jomo Phakathi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jomo Phakathi in the 18th minute of play forced Mzumbane's goalkeeper Freddie Mhlathe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 19th minute Lucas Maduna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Freddie Mhlathe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 20 minutes of play, Gqeberha All Stars's Thami Miti made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Freddie Mhlathe was left in no man's land by his defense there! Freddie Mhlathe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jomo Phakathi in the 23rd minute of play. Shumani Radebe kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Freddie Mhlathe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jomo Phakathi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nazeer King charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nazeer King the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Mzumbane's Nazeer King got a free kick in the 27th minute. Jomo Phakathi struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Freddie Mhlathe didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gqeberha All Stars. Freddie Mhlathe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thabile Nauseb in the 32nd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Mzumbane's Jafta Tshabalala got a free kick in the 32nd minute. In the 33rd minute, Jomo Phakathi made a precise shot to the right of Freddie Mhlathe. Freddie Mhlathe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jomo Phakathi, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Disappointed in the 0-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jomo Phakathi was the one to do the kick off. Freddie Mhlathe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thabile Nauseb, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucas Maduna in the 53rd minute of play forced Mzumbane's goalkeeper Freddie Mhlathe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 55thth minute of the game Thami Miti who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mzumbane's Freddie Mhlathe was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Boyisana Machete could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Freddie Mhlathe made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thami Miti in the 57th minute of play forced Mzumbane's goalkeeper Freddie Mhlathe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mzumbane's Freddie Mhlathe proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Mzumbane from getting a goal against them. Freddie Mhlathe was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Thabile Nauseb showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-9 in the 72 minute of play. A hard shot 77 in the game by Lucas Maduna from a close distance when the talented Freddie Mhlathe managed to make a qualified save. Mzumbane's players were relieved. Freddie Mhlathe was out of position in the 81 minute of play, and Thabile Nauseb capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Thabile Nauseb really showed his touch with that goal: 0-10. Freddie Mhlathe made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jomo Phakathi in the 85th minute. Freddie Mhlathe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucas Maduna in the 86th minute of play. Jomo Phakathi's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Freddie Mhlathe firmly grabbed it by the left post. When the final whistle sounded Gqeberha All Stars left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Mzumbane.
