Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Shumani Radebe started the match with the kick off. Ivan Mangope showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Shumani Radebe in the 5th minute of the match. With a little luck, Mzumbane's Freddie Mhlathe got control of the ball when Samuel Komani tried to sneak it across the goal line. 8 minutes into the game, Mzumbane's Shumani Radebe nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ivan Mangope made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Freddie Mhlathe was out of position in the 13 minute of play, and Edries Liau capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Edries Liau really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Mzumbane's Freddie Mhlathe proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Mzumbane from getting a goal against them. Mzumbane's Freddie Mhlathe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edries Liau in the 18th minute of play. In the 18th play minute Edries Liau came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Freddie Mhlathe. 2-1. Mzumbane's Freddie Mhlathe proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Mzumbane from getting a goal against them. In the 24th match minute, Springbok was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Johann Stoltz to maneuver through the defense. Freddie Mhlathe was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Edries Liau showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-1 in the 27 minute of play. In the 30th minute of the match, Samuel Komani got a very nice opportunity to score, but Freddie Mhlathe was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Nazeer King hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Mzumbane defense, Edries Liau kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Freddie Mhlathe. The Mzumbane fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Freddie Mhlathe should have stopped the shot. Samuel Komanis short, quick shot in the 37thth minute got Freddie Mhlathe to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Mzumbane's Freddie Mhlathe proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Mzumbane from getting a goal against them. After 40 minutes, Lucky Serage mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mzumbane and the Springbok players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 41st match minute, Mzumbane was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lucky Serage to maneuver through the defense. Springbok's Takalani Josephs got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Samuel Komani made a kick off. Freddie Mhlathe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edries Liau, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. In the 61st minute, Jafta Tshabalala hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Takalani Josephs struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Freddie Mhlathe didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Springbok. Samuel Magakula recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ivan Mangope took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Samuel Magakula, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mzumbane's Lucky Serage got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Shumani Radebe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Oliver Mbheki charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Oliver Mbheki the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 81st minute of the game. One of Springbok:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Mzumbane:s goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Samuel Komani managed to get in a good position for a shot. Springbok's supporters rose to their feet, but Samuel Komani was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Freddie Mhlathe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the referee ended the match the Springbok players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
