A very good chance for a goal. 8 minutes into the match, Lapaji's Miroslav Šramko sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Peter Bartošík narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Matúš Rafaj showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gejza Uhrík in the 12th minute of the match. If Rudolf Koreň had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FC Vrútky's Peter Bartošík proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save FC Vrútky from getting a goal against them. After some careless play in the FC Vrútky defense, Miroslav Šramko kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Peter Bartošík. The FC Vrútky fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Peter Bartošík should have stopped the shot. From close distance Miroslav Šramko pressed in the 2-0 goal high up into nets stiches in the right cross 36 minutes into the game. Peter Bartošík took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rudolf Koreň, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Peter Bartošík showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rudolf Koreň, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gejza Uhrík in the 46th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Matúš Rafaj prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 48th minute, Gejza Uhrík made a precise shot to the right of Matúš Rafaj. Lapaji's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1.

Miroslav Rudolf kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Róbert Džubák during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 55 played minutes FC Vrútky got a freekick which was hit by Róbert Džubák. After having played for 58 minutes, Rudolf Koreň managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lapaji's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rudolf Koreň was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 59th match minute, FC Vrútky was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Róbert Džubák to maneuver through the defense. With a left leg Peter Bartošík saved FC Vrútky from getting behind. Miroslav Šramko received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Peter Bartošík tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Miroslav Šramko fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Peter Bartošík having to interfere. If Viktor Minarik had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Peter Bartošík made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rudolf Koreň in the 98th minute of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Lapaji had played much better football throughout.
