Radoslav Kudlak was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 25 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 24th minute of the game. One of FC Chawoya:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Dark Horses Kosice:s goal. With his leg Stanislav Kúkoľ managed to avoid a goal in the 29thth minute, when FC Chawoya's Štefan Hupka fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Branislav Kovaľčík made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaromír Drapák in the 33rd minute of play. With a little luck, Dark Horses Kosice's Stanislav Kúkoľ got control of the ball when Miroslav Marguš tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 42nd minute, René Balajty hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. FC Chawoya's Branislav Kovaľčík played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomáš Fiamčík in the 60th minute of play. 61 minutes into the game, René Balajty cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Stanislav Kúkoľ was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Štefan Hupka in the 64th minute of play forced Dark Horses Kosice's goalkeeper Stanislav Kúkoľ to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 66th minute, Pavol Sedlák made a precise shot to the right of Branislav Kovaľčík. FC Chawoya's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-4. FC Chawoya's Branislav Kovaľčík played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomáš Fiamčík in the 70th minute of play. Teodor Čertický's late challenge caught a FC Chawoya's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The FC Chawoya supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Dark Horses Kosice's performance. The match ended with a win for Dark Horses Kosice.
