Iván Sotomayor had several of the FK Púchov's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 8 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-0 score and a disappointed Vladimír Šesták as he didn't even see the shot coming. 13 minutes into the match, Iván Sotomayor had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vladimír Šesták. FK Púchov's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Iván Sotomayor was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. In the 17th match minute, FK Púchov was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Viktor Pukelník to maneuver through the defense. Vladimír Šesták took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iván Sotomayor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC Smolenice's Iván Sotomayor got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iván Sotomayor in the 20th minute of play forced FK Púchov's goalkeeper Vladimír Šesták to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Michal Pachl received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Vladimír Šesták tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vladimír Šesták took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iván Sotomayor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as FC Smolenice's Iván Sotomayor slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Vladimír Šesták. That made the score 4-0 after 25 minutes of play. Vladimír Šesták was a little too slow when Iván Sotomayor got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 28th minute. The score was now 5-0. Iván Sotomayor blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vladimír Šesták having to make a save. FK Púchov's Vladimír Šesták proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save FK Púchov from getting a goal against them. When the match had gone on for 32 minutes, Michal Pachl put it in 6-0 from a short distance just to the right of Vladimír Šesták. With a little luck, FK Púchov's Vladimír Šesták got control of the ball when Iván Sotomayor tried to sneak it across the goal line. Róbert Ujlacký kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. In the 39th minute, Richard Čermeľ got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of FK Púchov booed when FC Smolenice was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Róbert Ujlacký didn't get a good kick on the ball. Henrich Jánošík recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Iván Sotomayor to strike the kick off in the second half. FK Púchov's Vladimír Šesták played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iván Sotomayor in the 51st minute of play. Róbert Ujlacký hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. When the match clock showed 54 minutes, the score became 7-0 when Iván Sotomayor sped through FK Púchov's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Vladimír Šesták. If Iván Sotomayor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 59 minutes of play, FC Smolenice's Iván Sotomayor made it 8-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vladimír Šesták was left in no man's land by his defense there! 63 minutes into the game, Ján Tirpák was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FK Púchov's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Smolenice the free kick. After a rather tough play, FK Púchov's Ján Tirpák got a free kick in the 64th minute. Jonas Ekelund, 64 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The supporters of FK Púchov booed when FC Smolenice was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jakub Riapoš didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 71st match minute, FC Smolenice was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Róbert Ujlacký to maneuver through the defense. In the 73rd minute of the match Jonas Ekelund shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vladimír Šesták showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When the match clock showed 76 minutes, the score became 10-0 when Iván Sotomayor sped through FK Púchov's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Vladimír Šesták. Róbert Ujlacký fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vladimír Šesták having to interfere. If Henrich Jánošík had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind FK Púchov's goalkeeper Vladimír Šesták, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Vladimír Šesták showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Michal Pachl, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. In the 87th minute Iván Sotomayor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vladimír Šesták saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 92nd minute, Iván Sotomayor left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Smolenice fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 11-0. In the 96th minute the ball was on its way in behind FK Púchov's goalkeeper Vladimír Šesták, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
