The supporters of MIK Focus ŽILINA booed when FK Púchov was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Piotr Rydz didn't get a good kick on the ball. 24 minutes into the match, FK Púchov's goal looked a bit too open when Jarne Vloeberghs came free, but Vladimír Šesták reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vladimír Šesták took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jarne Vloeberghs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Piotr Rydz to make the kick off. 55 minutes into the match, MIK Focus ŽILINA's goal looked a bit too open when Piotr Rydz came free, but Ladislav Vališ reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vladimír Šesták showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stancho Basarov, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. After a rather tough play, FK Púchov's Marián Kundráčik got a free kick in the 73rd minute. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind FK Púchov's goalkeeper Vladimír Šesták, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Lukáč Hanigovský struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Vladimír Šesták didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for MIK Focus ŽILINA. After 89 played minutes MIK Focus ŽILINA got a freekick which was hit by Lukáč Hanigovský. Bengt-Arne Glad sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sidnei Machado might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vladimír Šesták. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sidnei Machado ran back to his position shaking his head. The FK Púchov fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. MIK Focus ŽILINA were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
