Róbert Behúň made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Michal Hudák in the 2nd minute of play. Róbert Behúň showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Michal Hudák in the 6th minute of the match. AFK Petržalka's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Igor Bališ in the 7th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 10 minutes, Adam Hrdina successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 12th minute Igor Bališ shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Róbert Behúň saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 16th minute, Jozef Šagáth got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 20 minutes of play, AFK Petržalka's Michal Hudák made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. The crowd rose to their feet as FC Kukova's Gong Yang slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Adam Hrdina. That made the score 1-1 after 37 minutes of play. Michal Hudák's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Róbert Behúň read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. In the 40th minute, Michal Hudák ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Róbert Behúň was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Adam Hrdina made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gong Yang in the 43rd minute. After a rather tough play, AFK Petržalka's Vernon De Marco got a free kick in the 46th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Michal Hudák made a kick off. AFK Petržalka's Adam Hrdina played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gong Yang in the 53rd minute of play. If Michal Hudák had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 54th minute Michal Hudák shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Róbert Behúň saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 56 minutes into the match, FC Kukova's Gong Yang sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Adam Hrdina narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Michal Hudák in the 65th minute of play forced FC Kukova's goalkeeper Róbert Behúň to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 67 minutes into the match, AFK Petržalka's Michal Hudák sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Róbert Behúň narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 73 minutes into the match, AFK Petržalka's goal looked a bit too open when Gong Yang came free, but Adam Hrdina reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. FC Kukova were awarded a corner in the 80th minute after AFK Petržalka's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gregório Pimentel took the corner. The corner led to FC Kukova's Antônio Carlos Vaz getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. After a rather tough play, FC Kukova's Stano Dubček got a free kick in the 83rd minute. In the 87th minute, Viktor Srnka hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 90 minutes into the game, Nikola Krstović cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Róbert Behúň was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. AFK Petržalka were furious when Stanko Lobotka was red carded, 94 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 95 played minutes AFK Petržalka got a freekick which was hit by Stanko Lobotka. The AFK Petržalka players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
