Thanks to some nice moves Melvin Sternad could shoot a difficult shot in the 3rd minute, which Ronald Artnak however easily saved by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nurija Pugelj in the 8th minute of play forced Kostel ND's goalkeeper Egidio Kovič to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Suljo Krulec received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ronald Artnak came out and tried to block the shot, but Suljo Krulec slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 11th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Nurija Pugelj managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mirna Peč FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Nurija Pugelj was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Egidio Kovič breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nurija Pugelj in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Egidio Kovič prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mirna Peč FC's Ronald Artnak proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Mirna Peč FC from getting a goal against them. Dragoslav Vuksanović fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Egidio Kovič having to interfere. 44 minutes into the match, Kostel ND's goal looked a bit too open when Dragoslav Vuksanović came free, but Egidio Kovič reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nurija Pugelj fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Egidio Kovič having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dragoslav Vuksanović was the one to do the kick off. If Melvin Sternad had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 58 minutes into the match, Nurija Pugelj notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Kostel ND's Egidio Kovič. Egidio Kovič was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Suljo Krulec fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronald Artnak having to interfere. Melvin Sternad received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Ronald Artnak tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Suljo Krulec in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ronald Artnak saved Mirna Peč FC from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Melvin Sternad in the 73rd minute of play forced Mirna Peč FC's goalkeeper Ronald Artnak to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nurija Pugelj's late challenge caught a Kostel ND's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nurija Pugelj helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Mirna Peč FC getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Nurija Pugelj hit a great ball. Ronald Artnak stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Suljo Krulec's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. Egidio Kovič showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dragoslav Vuksanović in the 79th minute of the match. 86 minutes into the match, Nurija Pugelj had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Egidio Kovič. Kostel ND's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nurija Pugelj was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. Nick Ožbolt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Egidio Kovič tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dragoslav Vuksanović blasted a shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Egidio Kovič having to make a save. The Mirna Peč FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Mirna Peč FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
