Mai Žibert could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Boštjan Jakac made a huge save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Miha Pinter during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Chelsea FC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Miha Pinter hit a great ball. Mai Žibert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Boštjan Jakac having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elmin Nemanič in the 32nd minute of play forced Cerklje na Gorenjskem's goalkeeper Jasmin Pavlinič to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Svetomir Murg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 37th minute, Dorian Emeršič hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cerklje na Gorenjskem's Svetomir Murg got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Elmin Nemanič received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Jasmin Pavlinič tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jasmin Pavlinič showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fridrih Zavec, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Jasmin Pavlinič didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fridrih Zavec went, in the 45th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fridrih Zavec was the one to do the kick off. Dorian Emeršič recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Svetomir Murg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Matiček Korpič came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Chelsea FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Matiček Korpič couldn't finish the play. Elmin Nemanič took the ball and in the 67 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jasmin Pavlinič. Jasmin Pavlinič dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Cerklje na Gorenjskem's defense didn't have a chance, in the 73rd minute, when Fridrih Zavec scored to the left of an out of position Jasmin Pavlinič, making the score, 0-5. 78 minutes into the match, Mai Žibert had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Boštjan Jakac. Chelsea FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mai Žibert was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-5. Chelsea FC's Boštjan Jakac played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Svetomir Murg in the 85th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Mai Žibert managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cerklje na Gorenjskem's supporters rose to their feet, but Mai Žibert was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Boštjan Jakac breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cerklje na Gorenjskem's Jasmin Pavlinič played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fridrih Zavec in the 89th minute of play. The Chelsea FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Chelsea FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
