Frančišek Borštnik didn't get a good kick on the ball. 11 minutes into the match, Ribnica MNK's goal looked a bit too open when Žani Sonc came free, but Dane Modic reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Žani Sonc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Dane Modic tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Ribnica MNK's goalkeeper Dane Modic, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Narciz Markelj scored 1-1 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dalibor Širovnik, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Žani Sonc to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Juraj Zmazek managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lendava ND's supporters rose to their feet, but Juraj Zmazek was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dane Modic breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dalibor Širovnik showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Đino Mrkonja kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. 66 minutes into the match, Lendava ND's goalkeeper Dalibor Širovnik had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nelson Metelko. In the 67th minute, Nelson Metelko hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Žani Sonc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 69th match minute, Ribnica MNK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frančišek Borštnik to maneuver through the defense. Žani Sonc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dane Modic having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juraj Zmazek in the 80th minute of play forced Ribnica MNK's goalkeeper Dane Modic to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 82nd minute, Žani Sonc made a precise shot to the right of Dane Modic. Ribnica MNK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Narciz Markelj's late challenge caught a Lendava ND's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Narciz Markelj helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Ribnica MNK getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Narciz Markelj hit a great ball. Lendava ND's Žani Sonc got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
