The player immediately received a yellow card. Medard Trnovšek kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Šefko Rihtar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Valen Vrhovec was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. Stane Požlep hit a great ball. Valen Vrhovec took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vladislav Orosel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Šefko Rihtar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 29 played minutes Akvarij got a freekick which was hit by Stane Požlep. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind Hoče-Slivnica's goalkeeper Murat Kokalj, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Akvarij's Stane Požlep got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Janko Repovž came free with the goalkeeper in the 47th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Murat Kokalj could save by the left post. The Akvarij players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Hoče-Slivnica were winning 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Blažej Weissbacher to make the kick off. Valen Vrhovec showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Medard Trnovšek, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. If Vladislav Orosel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Valen Vrhovec showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Šefko Rihtar in the 62nd minute of the match. Šefko Rihtar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Valen Vrhovec tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 83rd minute, Vladislav Orosel made a precise shot to the right of Valen Vrhovec. Akvarij's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. After 93 played minutes Akvarij got a freekick which was hit by Michael Kuder. The long shot by Muho Ribić in the 94th minute really tested Valen Vrhovec's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Hoče-Slivnica eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
