With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fabio Kogovšek in the 4th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Živojin Kraljevič saved Brežice ND from getting behind. A collision led to Stična getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Alfonz Velej hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Koloman Novinec in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Horst Krope prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alan Abazović sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Alan Abazović fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Horst Krope having to interfere. When Koloman Novinec, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 14 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Horst Krope was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 16th minute, Koloman Novinec got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nedžat Pleteršek hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Horst Krope came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Brežice ND's Alan Abazović. But to his dismay, Alan Abazović quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. If Alfonz Velej had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 33rd minute, Stična's Fabio Kogovšek dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Alfonz Velej received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Živojin Kraljevič tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Koloman Novinec had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 44 minutes into the match, Stična's goal looked a bit too open when Alan Abazović came free, but Horst Krope reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Koloman Novinec had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 50th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Koloman Novinec made the kick off in the second half. Koloman Novinec struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alan Abazović received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Horst Krope tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alfonz Velej sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 67 minutes into the game, Adnan Lapajne was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Brežice ND's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Stična the free kick. After a rather tough play, Brežice ND's Adnan Lapajne got a free kick in the 68th minute. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Brežice ND's goalkeeper Živojin Kraljevič, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 74 minutes into the match, Fabio Kogovšek notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Brežice ND's Živojin Kraljevič. Živojin Kraljevič was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Horst Krope was out of position in the 78 minute of play, and Nedžat Pleteršek capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Nedžat Pleteršek really showed his touch with that goal: 2-2. Brežice ND's Živojin Kraljevič played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Franc Vukan in the 83rd minute of play. 84 minutes into the match, Stična's goalkeeper Horst Krope had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alan Abazović. The supporters of Brežice ND booed when Stična was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dragiša Pečevnik didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 89th minute Alfonz Velej shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Živojin Kraljevič saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Brežice ND defense, Alfonz Velej kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Živojin Kraljevič. The Brežice ND fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Živojin Kraljevič should have stopped the shot. In the 94th minute, Stična's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Koloman Novinec fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Koloman Novinec sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Brežice ND's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Stična had won, even though Brežice ND had held more of the ball.
