Timej Mihelčič fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lorenco Valjavec having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Apolonije Konič in the 12th minute of play forced Žalec MNK's goalkeeper Lorenco Valjavec to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 14th match minute, Smartno Devils FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ožbej Mešl to maneuver through the defense. If Timej Mihelčič had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jože Ušaj who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 23rdth minute tested the skills of Rugerij Jus when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 25 minutes into the game, Apolonije Rihtar was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Smartno Devils FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Žalec MNK the free kick. After a rather tough play, Smartno Devils FC's Apolonije Rihtar got a free kick in the 25th minute. Ožbej Mešl kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Smartno Devils FC's Rugerij Jus played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andrej Primožič in the 34th minute of play. Time Jančar kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. If Apolonije Konič had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Smartno Devils FC booed when Žalec MNK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Apolonije Konič to make the kick off. Timej Mihelčič received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Lorenco Valjavec tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Apolonije Konič had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 57 minutes into the match, Jože Ušaj notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Smartno Devils FC's Rugerij Jus. Rugerij Jus was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 61st minute, Andrej Primožič hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Timej Mihelčič had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 66 minutes into the match, Žalec MNK's goalkeeper Lorenco Valjavec had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Timej Mihelčič. Apolonije Konič was extremely unlucky when he, in the 68th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. 74 minutes into the game, Mevlin Klinc was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Smartno Devils FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Žalec MNK the free kick. 73 minutes into the game, one of Smartno Devils FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Jože Ušaj sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lorenco Valjavec showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Apolonije Konič, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 98th minute, Apolonije Konič managed to get in a good position for a shot. Smartno Devils FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Apolonije Konič was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lorenco Valjavec breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 98th minute, Enis Kraškovic hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Žalec MNK's Lorenco Valjavec proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 100th minute of the match, managed to save Žalec MNK from getting a goal against them. Smartno Devils FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
