Boštjan Žitnik sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Boštjan Žitnik fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Perica Rehar having to interfere. If Boštjan Žitnik had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Evgenij Perović received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Henrik Osterman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 18 minutes into the match, Greenhorns's goal looked a bit too open when Irenej Vene came free, but Henrik Osterman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Preddvor booed when Greenhorns was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mustafa Grilj didn't get a good kick on the ball. 27 minutes into the match, Preddvor's goalkeeper Perica Rehar had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Boštjan Žitnik. In the 44th match minute, Greenhorns was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gavrilo Dobravc to maneuver through the defense. In the 45th minute, Vladimir Molih sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Greenhorns's Henrik Osterman didn't even have to move. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sergej Zdešar in the 47th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Perica Rehar prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Evgenij Perović sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sergej Zdešar was the one to do the kick off. Perica Rehar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mustafa Grilj in the 54th minute of play. Boštjan Žitnik recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Boštjan Žitnik sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sergej Zdešar succeeded in the game's 61st minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. After a rather tough play, Preddvor's Delzi Žalec got a free kick in the 64th minute. 67 minutes had been played when some careless play by Preddvor's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Leonid Gregl was slow to take the kick. During this time Greenhorns's players had a chance to rest. Božidar Vardjan tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Perica Rehar. An unnecessary self made goal, 2-0 in the 67th minute. 74 minutes into the game, Boštjan Žitnik cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Perica Rehar was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Preddvor's Delzi Žalec got a free kick in the 80th minute. When Greenhorns's Boštjan Žitnik, in the 81st minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Greenhorns. A collision led to Preddvor getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Delzi Žalec hit a great ball. Perica Rehar came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by Greenhorns's Sergej Zdešar. But to his dismay, Sergej Zdešar quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. In the 90th minute, Leonid Gregl hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Henrik Osterman acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 91st minute, took the ball on the long shot from Vladimir Molih. In the 94th minute, Preddvor's Irenej Vene ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Henrik Osterman. Henrik Osterman yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-1. 98 minutes into the match, Sergej Zdešar notched a goal, 5-1, to the right of Preddvor's Perica Rehar. Perica Rehar was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Greenhorns's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
