Tonček Žerak didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Šampion Celje. Mika Žitnik in the 21stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Tonček Žerak, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Tonček Žerak made an important save on a dangerous shot by Karim Gjerkeš in the 22nd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mika Žitnik in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tonček Žerak prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After taking down the ball on Šampion Celje's corner Klaudio Kolarič fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Tonček Žerak quite easily take care of the ball. Karim Gjerkeš scored 2-0 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tonček Žerak, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpected shot in the 35th minute by Karim Gjerkeš got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 37 minutes into the game, Šampion Celje's Karim Gjerkeš nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tonček Žerak made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. Karim Gjerkeš came free with the goalkeeper in the 42nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Tonček Žerak could save by the left post. Tonček Žerak made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mika Žitnik in the 43rd minute of play. After 44th play minutes Mika Žitnik shot 5-0, a short shot which went by Tonček Žerak and just under the crossbar into goal. 47 minutes into the game, Vilibald Brišnik was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. NK Panter's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Šampion Celje the free kick. Vilibald Brišnik kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vilibald Brišnik was the one to do the kick off. Milivoj Korez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Karim Gjerkeš managed to get in a good position for a shot. Šampion Celje's supporters rose to their feet, but Karim Gjerkeš was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tonček Žerak breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 56th minute of the match Hasib Erzar shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tonček Žerak showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Karim Gjerkeš sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 65th match minute, NK Panter was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nikolaj Meglič to maneuver through the defense. After 66 minutes of play, Šampion Celje's Karim Gjerkeš made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tonček Žerak was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Vilibald Brišnik in the 73rd minute of play forced Šampion Celje's goalkeeper Zahir Markovič to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
