Mišo Goropevšek made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Erik Mešić sent off a good shot on target. Mišo Goropevšek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vladan Vogrinčič in the 5th minute of play. Erik Mešić received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Mišo Goropevšek tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Duplek MNK's Mišo Goropevšek proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save Duplek MNK from getting a goal against them. Maximilian Pann hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. 12 minutes into the match, Toni Simončič had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marij Domadenik. Hull City's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Toni Simončič was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 14th minute, Reinhard Prelovšek hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Iris Maurič took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marij Domadenik. Marij Domadenik dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Mišo Goropevšek was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Vladan Vogrinčič showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 20 minute of play. The Duplek MNK fans' excitement grew in the 24th match minute when Duplek MNK's Iris Maurič looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Iris Maurič fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marij Domadenik having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Hull City's zone, Toni Simončič stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marij Domadenik came out of the goal and Toni Simončič tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Iris Maurič sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Iris Maurič struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Marij Domadenik didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Duplek MNK. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iris Maurič in the 47th minute of play forced Hull City's goalkeeper Marij Domadenik to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Vladan Vogrinčič made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Hull City were awarded a corner. Jordan Mustar went to the cornerflag to take it. Janne Mihelič was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. In the 55th match minute, Duplek MNK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Izet Golli to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 67 minutes, Vladan Vogrinčič managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hull City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vladan Vogrinčič was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 68 minutes into the game, Reinhard Prelovšek was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Duplek MNK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hull City the free kick. Reinhard Prelovšek hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. In the 70th minute Vladan Vogrinčič shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mišo Goropevšek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Slaviša Juhant managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hull City's supporters rose to their feet, but Slaviša Juhant was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mišo Goropevšek breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Toni Simončič sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Iris Maurič had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iris Maurič in the 89th minute of play forced Hull City's goalkeeper Marij Domadenik to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 90 played minutes Duplek MNK got a freekick which was hit by Reinhard Prelovšek.
