The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ravne na Koroškem ND's Avguštin Dermastja played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andrijan Premuš in the 5th minute of play. Avguštin Dermastja showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viljem Smerkolj in the 8th minute of the match. Viljem Smerkolj sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ravne na Koroškem ND's Avguštin Dermastja played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Viljem Smerkolj in the 13th minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, Rogatec FC's goalkeeper Maksimilijan Murković had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lovrenc Lovšin. An unexpectedly hard shot by Viljem Smerkolj in the 32nd minute of play forced Ravne na Koroškem ND's goalkeeper Avguštin Dermastja to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 35th minute Andrijan Premuš shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Avguštin Dermastja saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Viljem Smerkolj fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Avguštin Dermastja having to interfere. A collision led to Ravne na Koroškem ND getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Oton Vidmar hit a great ball. When Rogatec FC's Viljem Smerkolj in the 40th minute got a chance for a shot 40th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

In the 61st minute Kras Radoš shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maksimilijan Murković saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Rogatec FC's goalkeeper Maksimilijan Murković, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 72nd match minute, Rogatec FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andrijan Premuš to maneuver through the defense. Lovrenc Lovšin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Maksimilijan Murković tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Viljem Smerkolj had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Ravne na Koroškem ND's zone, Andrijan Premuš stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Avguštin Dermastja came out of the goal and Andrijan Premuš tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 84th minute Kras Radoš shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maksimilijan Murković saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Maksimilijan Murković took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kras Radoš, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Bor Fabjan fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rogatec FC's protests and gave Bor Fabjan a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Ravne na Koroškem ND booed when Rogatec FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bor Fabjan didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Ravne na Koroškem ND's zone, Viljem Smerkolj stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Avguštin Dermastja came out of the goal and Viljem Smerkolj tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rogatec FC's Andrijan Premuš got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 94th match minute, Ravne na Koroškem ND was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oton Vidmar to maneuver through the defense. In the 97th minute Rogatec FC were awarded a corner. Norbert Sabolek went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Rogatec FC's Arpad Primožič to fire away a dangerous shot which Avguštin Dermastja despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Ravne na Koroškem ND succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Rogatec FC had controlled the match.
