Spectators: 6797 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1797, VIP seats: 0) AK Brežice's Jonathan Pleše started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 3 minutes of play, AK Brežice's Jonathan Pleše made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sava Lisjak was left in no man's land by his defense there! AK Brežice's Jonathan Pleše got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 11th minute, AK Brežice's Karol Škrubej seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Karol Škrubej the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of AK Brežice protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Karol Škrubej had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 12th minute there was a penalty for Lašče. Timotej Kofler stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Hajdar Kokot. 1-1. Emanuel Ušaj could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Hajdar Kokot made a huge save. Stašo Borko hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Sava Lisjak took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elin Štrukelj, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 29th minute of the game. One of Lašče:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of AK Brežice:s goal. Elin Štrukelj sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Lašče's zone, Elin Štrukelj stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sava Lisjak came out of the goal and Elin Štrukelj tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sava Lisjak didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Elin Štrukelj went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Sava Lisjak made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elin Štrukelj in the 43rd minute of play. Semir Fejzula received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Sava Lisjak tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gerhard Pavšek to make the kick off. Elin Štrukelj sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Semir Fejzula came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the AK Brežice fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Semir Fejzula couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Lašče's Nermin Baranja got a free kick in the 54th minute. Hajdar Kokot made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ersan Murn in the 59th minute of play. After having played for 66 minutes, Elin Štrukelj managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AK Brežice's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elin Štrukelj was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Elin Štrukelj might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sava Lisjak. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Elin Štrukelj ran back to his position shaking his head. AK Brežice's Hajdar Kokot played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emanuel Ušaj in the 73rd minute of play. The supporters of AK Brežice booed when Lašče was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gerhard Pavšek didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alain Čučnik sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Lašče's Sava Lisjak got control of the ball when Elin Štrukelj tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match was over AK Brežice could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Lašče throughout the match.
