An unexpectedly hard shot by Otmar Reisp in the 19th minute of play forced NK Mafija's goalkeeper Witold Wietrzychowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 22nd minute Polde Anzeljc shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Witold Wietrzychowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vladan Levar's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Damjan Peklenk read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. NK Mafija's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bojan Bogdanović was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tabor's goalkeeper Damjan Peklenk, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 43 minutes into the match, Tabor's goalkeeper Damjan Peklenk had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vladan Levar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vladan Levar got free with Damjan Peklenk in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Žarko Preželj hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. With his leg Damjan Peklenk managed to avoid a goal in the 48thth minute, when NK Mafija's Vladan Levar fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Žarko Preželj to make the kick off. Witold Wietrzychowski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Polde Anzeljc, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tabor's Damjan Peklenk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vladan Levar in the 56th minute of play. When Polde Anzeljc fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tabor's protests and gave Polde Anzeljc a yellow card for diving instead. Witold Wietrzychowski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Polde Anzeljc in the 61st minute of play. Damjan Peklenk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vladan Levar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Witold Wietrzychowski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Polde Anzeljc, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Žarko Preželj received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. If Hakim Auguštin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 99th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match was over Tabor could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than NK Mafija throughout the match.
