Sladjan Končan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nevijo Zalokar, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. 18 minutes into the match, Bastian Benedičič notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Cerkvenjak's Sladjan Končan. Sladjan Končan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After having played for 28 minutes, Fikret Gornik managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cerkvenjak's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fikret Gornik was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sladjan Končan made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Bastian Benedičič sent off a good shot on target. After 41 played minutes Cerkvenjak got a freekick which was hit by Dino Kušar. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mirzet Herceg to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Vodice MNK's zone, Fikret Gornik stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maksimiljan Krebelj came out of the goal and Fikret Gornik tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Cerkvenjak getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Moreno Rizmal hit a great ball. In the 55th minute, Nevijo Zalokar ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sladjan Končan was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. Fikret Gornik received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Maksimiljan Krebelj tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Moreno Rizmal hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. In the 69th minute of the match Goran Bertalanič sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sladjan Končan skillfully saved the ball. Fikret Gornik might have been able to make a better finish in the 73rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Maksimiljan Krebelj. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fikret Gornik ran back to his position shaking his head. Maksimiljan Krebelj took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mirzet Herceg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Bastian Benedičič's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sladjan Končan was relentless in the 79th minute of the game.
