After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Ignacij Crnkić managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bistrica ob Sotli NK's supporters rose to their feet, but Ignacij Crnkić was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pavli Jeromel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vekoslav Kampjut recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Niki Bučar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 41 minutes, Smajil Polanc managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bistrica ob Sotli NK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Smajil Polanc was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Migel Turnšek came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by Borovnica NK's Evgen Gruden. But to his dismay, Evgen Gruden quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Migel Turnšek showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isen Čuš, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. When Maks Boh fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bistrica ob Sotli NK's protests and gave Maks Boh a yellow card for diving instead. In the 54th match minute, Bistrica ob Sotli NK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maks Boh to maneuver through the defense. If Evgen Gruden had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bistrica ob Sotli NK were furious when Daniele Slamnik was red carded, 93 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 93 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle.
