Spectators: 8007 (Terracing: 6007, Seating: 1841, VIP seats: 159) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Boštjan Podrepšek started the match with the kick off. Alaga Ožura showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vekoslav Kampjut in the 10th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Borovnica NK's Zvone Žukovec got a free kick in the 13th minute. 14 minutes into the match, Newton Heath L&YR F.C's Edvin Rizmal broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After 17 minutes of play, Borovnica NK's Evgen Gruden made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alaga Ožura was left in no man's land by his defense there! Branko Cijan struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Pavli Jeromel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Newton Heath L&YR F.C. Borovnica NK's Evgen Gruden got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Isen Čuš came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Borovnica NK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Isen Čuš couldn't finish the play. Miha Lampensberger hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. In the 42nd minute Isen Čuš shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alaga Ožura saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Boštjan Podrepšek recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Newton Heath L&YR F.C players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Borovnica NK were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Isen Čuš was the one to do the kick off. If Branko Cijan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Borovnica NK fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 55th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Newton Heath L&YR F.C a penalty, 57 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Edvin Rizmal, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Borovnica NK's Pavli Jeromel. 1-1. Boštjan Podrepšek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pavli Jeromel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Boštjan Podrepšek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pavli Jeromel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Boštjan Podrepšek, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Borovnica NK's zone, Branko Cijan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pavli Jeromel came out of the goal and Branko Cijan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Branko Cijan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Newton Heath L&YR F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Branko Cijan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pavli Jeromel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rasto Brezovec kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Pavli Jeromel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Branko Cijan in the 85th minute of play. Boštjan Podrepšek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Boštjan Podrepšek received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Pavli Jeromel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Boštjan Podrepšek fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 99th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pavli Jeromel having to interfere. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
