After 13 minutes, Kruno Sternad made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. NK Laško Pivovar's Vladko Mlinarič tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Admir Horjak who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 16thth minute tested the skills of Alen Jakolič when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 19 minutes into the match, NK Laško Pivovar's Arpad Brumen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alen Jakolič narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Azis Špurej in the 20th minute of play forced NK Laško Pivovar's goalkeeper Vladko Mlinarič to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A hard shot 28 in the game by Admir Horjak from a close distance when the talented Alen Jakolič managed to make a qualified save. Brezovica's players were relieved. A collision led to NK Laško Pivovar getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Goražd Kureš hit a great ball. NK Laško Pivovar's Vladko Mlinarič played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kruno Sternad in the 34th minute of play. Azis Špurej fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vladko Mlinarič having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in NK Laško Pivovar's zone, Kruno Sternad stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vladko Mlinarič came out of the goal and Kruno Sternad tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 39th match minute, Brezovica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Azis Špurej to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Brezovica's Srečko Brinovšek got a free kick in the 47th minute. After recieving a nice pass, NK Laško Pivovar's Častislav Šiberle tried to score from far away in the 48th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kruno Sternad made a kick off. If Admir Horjak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. In the 58th minute Arpad Brumen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alen Jakolič saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vladko Mlinarič showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kruno Sternad, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. When Kruno Sternad came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Brezovica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kruno Sternad couldn't finish the play. Vladko Mlinarič made an important save on a dangerous shot by Azis Špurej in the 66th minute. In the 72nd minute Arpad Brumen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alen Jakolič saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, NK Laško Pivovar's Vladko Mlinarič got control of the ball when Azis Špurej tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 88th minute, Arpad Brumen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 93rd minute, Arpad Brumen made a precise shot to the right of Alen Jakolič. Brezovica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. 97 minutes into the match, Brezovica's goal looked a bit too open when Admir Horjak came free, but Alen Jakolič reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
