After 36 played minutes, Jo Mamma's Mentor Vodnik shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Lorenzo Krempl came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Jo Mamma reached it. When Saško Udrih fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cerkno MNK's protests and gave Saško Udrih a yellow card for diving instead. 37 minutes into the game, Mišo Verhovšek cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Lorenzo Krempl was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 40th minute, Cerkno MNK's Omar Požeg dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mišo Verhovšek was the one to do the kick off. Krsta Hvala received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Viljem Gjerkeš tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Avgust Krmelj in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Viljem Gjerkeš prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lorenzo Krempl took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mišo Verhovšek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Cerkno MNK fans' excitement grew in the 71st match minute when Cerkno MNK's Avgust Krmelj looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 76 minutes into the game, Leo Mihalič recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Lorenzo Krempl. Leo Mihalič showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-4. If Avgust Krmelj had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Viljem Gjerkeš showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Omar Požeg in the 81st minute of the match. Viljem Gjerkeš stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Avgust Krmelj's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. After 92 played minutes Jo Mamma got a freekick which was hit by Lev Vučić. Viljem Gjerkeš showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Saško Udrih in the 94th minute of the match. In the 96th minute Omar Požeg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Viljem Gjerkeš saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Cerkno MNK lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
