The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Hodoš's Dimitris Papadopulos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Norbert Sešek in the 6th minute of play. 10 minutes into the match, Will Gates had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Feliks Šenk. Kočevje FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Will Gates was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. After 13 played minutes Kočevje FC got a freekick which was hit by Juraj Škrjanc. Will Gates struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Feliks Šenk didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hodoš. Feliks Šenk made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Will Gates sent off a good shot on target. Will Gates who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 21stth minute tested the skills of Feliks Šenk when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Will Gates during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Hodoš's Will Gates got a free kick in the 28th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 32 minutes, Feliks Šenk successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Will Gates who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 36thth minute tested the skills of Feliks Šenk when he managed to save the team from getting behind. With a little luck, Kočevje FC's Feliks Šenk got control of the ball when Džan Verdev tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Hodoš's Will Gates in 43 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Feliks Šenk guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Feliks Šenk made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Will Gates sent off a good shot on target. Rajmund Dobnikar hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Claudio Vurkeljc stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Feliks Šenk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Will Gates in the 55th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Will Gates in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Feliks Šenk saved Kočevje FC from getting behind. Norbert Sešek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Slavoljub Komel kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Peter Saksida hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Will Gates in the 65th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Feliks Šenk prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Feliks Šenk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Will Gates, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 71 minutes, Will Gates made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Kočevje FC's Feliks Šenk tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Dennis Beškovnik recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 82 played minutes Kočevje FC got a freekick which was hit by Znadimir Rutar. 83 minutes into the match, Hodoš's Tomaž Dobrila sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Feliks Šenk narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dennis Beškovnik in the 93rd minute of play forced Kočevje FC's goalkeeper Feliks Šenk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. There was no doubt that Hodoš were the better team. Hodoš's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
