If Omer Avsenik had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 20 minutes into the game, Rade Zmrzlak recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Stanko Žak. Rade Zmrzlak showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Stanko Žak made an important save on a dangerous shot by Theodor Trobina in the 23rd minute. Miodrag Kureš sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tihomir Gornik might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zekirja Kunstelj. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tihomir Gornik ran back to his position shaking his head. Rade Zmrzlak kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Zekirja Kunstelj took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tihomir Gornik, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Omer Avsenik had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Theodor Trobina recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Slovenj Gradec's zone, Miodrag Kureš stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zekirja Kunstelj came out of the goal and Miodrag Kureš tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Theodor Trobina put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Stanko Žak. Miodrag Kureš received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Zekirja Kunstelj tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 63rd match minute, Slovenj Gradec was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kasim Jakšić to maneuver through the defense. Tihomir Gorniks short, quick shot in the 81stth minute got Zekirja Kunstelj to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Tihomir Gornik's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 86thth minute, Zekirja Kunstelj skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The supporters of sveti vrh booed when Slovenj Gradec was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amin Nedižavec didn't get a good kick on the ball.
