The referee gave Anej Ozimek a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. If Siniša Debevec had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 44 minutes into the match, Vuzenica NK's goalkeeper Almin Širca had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mario Alberto Kempes. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Miguel Ángel Ortega was the one to do the kick off. Almin Širca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mario Alberto Kempes, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Rolando Lindav kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Rolando Lindav charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rolando Lindav the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 56th minute of the game. Sebastian Cojan stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Almin Širca. 3-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Miguel Ángel Ortega in the 61st managed to get into a good position. Almin Širca came out of the goal and Miguel Ángel Ortega tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Mario Alberto Kempes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Almin Širca was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. Milovan Božnik sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. FC Barcelona's Siniša Debevec got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Siniša Debevec took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Almin Širca. Almin Širca dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. FC Barcelona had played much better football throughout.
