An unexpectedly hard shot by Robin Hake in the 11th minute of play forced Lokomotiv Luthagen FC's goalkeeper Fabien Decock to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rutger Bivall to make the kick off. 58 minutes into the game, Eric Benett was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lokomotiv Luthagen FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave DCFC the free kick.
