Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Jonsered IF's Torbjörn Zachrisson in the 6th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Lennart Mattsson was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Tidaholm through an amazing save. Erling Svensson struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Christian Brask didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tidaholm. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jan-Erik Gustavsson during the 11th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jan-Erik Gustavsson hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. If Torbjörn Zachrisson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 20th play minutes Torbjörn Zachrisson shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Lennart Mattsson and just under the crossbar into goal. When Hans Allbom came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Jonsered IF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hans Allbom couldn't finish the play. Torbjörn Zachrisson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lennart Mattsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. 33 minutes into the match, Jonsered IF's goal looked a bit too open when Erling Svensson came free, but Christian Brask reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Jonsered IF's zone, Allan Asserlindh stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christian Brask came out of the goal and Allan Asserlindh tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Erling Svensson came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Tidaholm fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Erling Svensson couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Hugo Uter managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tidaholm's supporters rose to their feet, but Hugo Uter was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Christian Brask breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Hugo Uter came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Tidaholm fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hugo Uter couldn't finish the play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Erling Svensson to make the kick off. Torbjörn Zachrisson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lennart Mattsson having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Torbjörn Zachrisson in the 60th minute of play forced Tidaholm's goalkeeper Lennart Mattsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 62nd minute, Jonsered IF's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Allan Asserlindh fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Torbjörn Zachrisson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lennart Mattsson having to make a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Allan Asserlindh got free with Christian Brask in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 72 minutes, Allan Asserlindh managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tidaholm's supporters crossed their fingers, but Allan Asserlindh was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Christian Brask didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Allan Asserlindh went, in the 74th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Allan Asserlindh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 83rd minute, Torbjörn Zachrisson made a precise shot to the right of Lennart Mattsson. Tidaholm's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. In the 89th minute Torbjörn Zachrisson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lennart Mattsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonsered IF's Jan-Erik Gustavsson got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 92nd minute Erling Svensson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christian Brask saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 94 minutes into the match, Jens-Åke Rang dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Christian Brask, 2-2. Tidaholm were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Jonsered IF to leave the ground with a draw.
