Spectators: 7135 (Terracing: 5353, Seating: 1641, VIP seats: 141) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. But to his dismay, Egil Sundberg quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Andreas Uter made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rudolf Algren in the 16th minute. Simon Olofsson's late challenge caught a Stenungsund IF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Simon Olofsson helped the player get up and apologised. 18 minutes into the match, Stenungsund IF's Egil Sundberg sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Andreas Uter narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Egil Sundberg in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Andreas Uter prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Stenungsund IF's Egil Sundberg got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A hard shot 48 in the game by Egil Sundberg from a close distance when the talented Andreas Uter managed to make a qualified save. Åre's players were relieved. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Egil Sundberg to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Sonny Forss hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ingmar Wassenius kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Simon Olofsson got his second yellow card in the match during the 64th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of Stenungsund IF booed when Åre was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Simon Olofsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind Åre's goalkeeper Andreas Uter, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Egil Sundberg in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Andreas Uter prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Andreas Uter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Egil Sundberg in the 78th minute of play. After 82 minutes, Ian Magnusson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Åre and the Stenungsund IF players grew even worse after the yellow card. Tomas Lindberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ian Magnusson in the 86th minute. In the 89thth minute of the game Egil Sundberg who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Åre's Andreas Uter was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Egil Sundberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Stenungsund IF had played much better football throughout.
