The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Ätran's Sven-Erik Persson got a free kick in the 4th minute. In the 8th minute, Egil Utfal ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Tönnberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sven-Erik Persson in the 13th minute of play forced Olugn FF's goalkeeper Jonathan Tönnberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Ätran booed when Olugn FF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zebastian Källberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonathan Tönnberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Egil Utfal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonathan Tönnberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Egil Utfal, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. When Egil Utfal came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Ätran fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Egil Utfal couldn't finish the play. Egil Utfal struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Jonathan Tönnberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ätran. Egil Utfal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Jonathan Tönnberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jonathan Tönnberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sven-Erik Persson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 41st minute Egil Utfal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Tönnberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Olugn FF defense, Egil Utfal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Tönnberg. The Olugn FF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Tönnberg should have stopped the shot. After the first half Ätran were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Egil Utfal was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Olugn FF's zone, Sven-Erik Persson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Tönnberg came out of the goal and Sven-Erik Persson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sven-Erik Persson was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 62nd minute. Ätran's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Olugn FF's Jonathan Tönnberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Egil Utfal in the 64th minute of play. Helge Samuelsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Allan Nyberg having to interfere. Kim Lindman hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Egil Utfal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Tönnberg was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. When Sven-Erik Persson came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Ätran fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sven-Erik Persson couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Egil Utfal in the 89th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Tönnberg prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Egil Utfal in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Tönnberg saved Olugn FF from getting behind. Helge Samuelsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Allan Nyberg having to interfere. The Ätran players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
