The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Eric Godholm had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tord Carlberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carl Sandberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. After 12 minutes, Freddie Stenquist mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nykil and the Arild FF players grew even worse after the yellow card. Freddie Stenquist kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Carl Sandberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nykil's Algot Söderström proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Nykil from getting a goal against them. After 23 played minutes Arild FF got a freekick which was hit by Per-Olof Bäckman. In the 24th minute Carl Sandberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tord Carlberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tord Carlberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eric Godholm, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Arild FF's Tord Carlberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eric Godholm in the 28th minute of play. In the 32nd minute, Arild FF's Egil Kvick seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Egil Kvick the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Arild FF protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Egil Kvick had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 31 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Arild FF! The referee gave Nykil a penalty, 34 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Vincent Jönsson, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Arild FF's Tord Carlberg. 0-1. Tord Carlberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eric Godholm in the 38th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carl Sandberg in the 39th minute of play forced Arild FF's goalkeeper Tord Carlberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 42 minutes into the game, Eric Godholm cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Tord Carlberg was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Carl Sandberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 48th minute, Bernt Aleberg made a precise shot to the right of Tord Carlberg. Arild FF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Tord Carlberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carl Sandberg in the 57th minute of the match. Tord Carlberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carl Sandberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. In the 64thth minute of the game Carl Sandberg who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Arild FF's Tord Carlberg was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 99 played minutes, Nykil's Vincent Jönsson shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Tord Carlberg came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Nykil reached it. The Nykil supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Nykil would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
