Spectators: 7209 (Terracing: 5409, Seating: 1657, VIP seats: 143) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Tobias Ahlén kicked off to start the match. Gustaf Löv made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Petter Söderlund in the 3rd minute of play. When the match had gone on for 5 minutes, Harald Kinnman put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Gustaf Löv. 13 minutes into the match, Hammarby IF's goal looked a bit too open when Petter Söderlund came free, but Gustaf Löv reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Björneborg's Mark Tomasson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Björneborg from getting a goal against them. Björneborg's Petter Söderlund got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ove Drewitz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 34 minutes into the match, Ove Drewitz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gustaf Löv. Hammarby IF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ove Drewitz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Hammarby IF's Gustaf Löv played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Petter Söderlund in the 37th minute of play. Petter Söderlund fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustaf Löv having to interfere. Petter Söderlund scored 1-4 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gustaf Löv, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 44th minute Petter Söderlund shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustaf Löv saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 46th minute, Ove Drewitz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gustaf Löv was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-5.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ove Drewitz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Hammarby IF's Gustaf Löv proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Hammarby IF from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Petter Söderlund managed to get in a good position for a shot. Björneborg's supporters rose to their feet, but Petter Söderlund was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gustaf Löv breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 67th minute Tobias Ahlén shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mark Tomasson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gustaf Löv showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ove Drewitz in the 70th minute of the match. Petter Söderlund received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Gustaf Löv tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Petter Söderlund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Björneborg's Petter Söderlund got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gustaf Löv showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ove Drewitz, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Gustaf Löv was out of position in the 89 minute of play, and Petter Söderlund capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Petter Söderlund really showed his touch with that goal: 1-6. If Ove Drewitz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 97 minutes into the match, Hammarby IF's Tobias Ahlén sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mark Tomasson narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
