In the 3rd minute of the match Gunnar Björkkvist shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ahmet Yahya Taşkıner showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 7 minutes into the match, Christian Andberg had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ahmet Yahya Taşkıner. Malmö FF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Christian Andberg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Niklas Mellbad charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Niklas Mellbad the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Niklas Mellbad kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Malmö FF's Jimmy Ek slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Birger Ström. That made the score 1-1 after 12 minutes of play. In the 18th match minute, Malmö FF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erland Fagrell to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Christian Andberg in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ahmet Yahya Taşkıner saved Malmö FF from getting behind. Björkvik's Birger Ström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Torbjörn Linqvist in the 25th minute of play. Jimmy Ek fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Birger Ström having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Osvaldo Gaitan got free with Birger Ström in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The throw-in from Niklas Mellbad in the 32nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Malmö FF's Jon Mikaelsson. In the 34th match minute, Malmö FF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Torbjörn Linqvist to maneuver through the defense. Osvaldo Gaitan charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Osvaldo Gaitan hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Christian Andberg in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ahmet Yahya Taşkıner prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Björkvik's Christian Andberg in the 41st minute got a chance for a shot 41st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Malmö FF's goalie prevented a goal. Agne Wahlnäs was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 43 minutes into the match. After 43 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Malmö FF!

The wind increased when Christian Andberg made the kick off in the second half. Ahmet Yahya Taşkıner was a little too slow when Linus Kielstedt got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 56th minute. The score was now 1-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Christian Andberg got free with Ahmet Yahya Taşkıner in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Erland Fagrell kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. In the 73rd match minute, Malmö FF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erland Fagrell to maneuver through the defense. Christian Andbergs short, quick shot in the 75thth minute got Ahmet Yahya Taşkıner to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in.
