The supporters of Edsbyn IF booed when Liverpool was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Harry Blomqvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jardel Monteiro hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Emanuel Koch struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Måns Smefeldt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Edsbyn IF. In the 36th minute, Liverpool's Jens-Ola Johnsson seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Jens-Ola Johnsson the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Liverpool protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Jens-Ola Johnsson had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Måns Smefeldt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Harry Blomqvist's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Karl-Michael Björklund read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. After some careless play in the Liverpool defense, Hayri Sancaktar kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Måns Smefeldt. The Liverpool fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Måns Smefeldt should have stopped the shot. 63 minutes into the match, Liverpool's goal looked a bit too open when Emanuel Koch came free, but Måns Smefeldt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Måns Smefeldt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nils-Erik Anselius, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. 65 minutes into the match, Liverpool's goal looked a bit too open when Gavril Stoicea came free, but Måns Smefeldt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jardel Monteiro couldn't finish the play. In the 89th minute Nils-Erik Anselius shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Måns Smefeldt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
