Hammarby Talang FF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U.S. Soccer Academy the free kick. In the 3rd minute of the match Txurio Almirall sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Pekko Mattila skillfully saved the ball. In the 7th minute Reine Pihlblad shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pekko Mattila saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Hammarby Talang FF's Ludwig Björkkvist got a free kick in the 12th minute. U.S. Soccer Academy's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Folke Valler 17 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. Jonas Sundström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Folke Valler, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. In the 31st minute, Txurio Almirall hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Minas Alexiou in the 37th minute of play forced Hammarby Talang FF's goalkeeper Pekko Mattila to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 38 minutes, Ludwig Björkkvist mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hammarby Talang FF and the U.S. Soccer Academy players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Hammarby Talang FF booed when U.S. Soccer Academy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Folke Valler to make the kick off. In the 57thth minute of the game Ludwig Björkkvist who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U.S. Soccer Academy's Jonas Sundström was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Lars Hammarberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hammarby Talang FF's supporters rose to their feet, but Lars Hammarberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonas Sundström breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Hammarby Talang FF's zone, Nicklas Soned stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pekko Mattila came out of the goal and Nicklas Soned tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jonas Sundström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Blomqvist in the 71st minute of play. In the 72nd minute Folke Valler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonas Sundström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 73rd match minute, U.S. Soccer Academy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Philip Boman to maneuver through the defense. In the 74th minute, Philip Boman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 76th minute, Folke Valler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With his leg Pekko Mattila managed to avoid a goal in the 80thth minute, when U.S. Soccer Academy's Minas Alexiou fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When Folke Valler came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Hammarby Talang FF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Folke Valler couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Hammarby Talang FF's Pekko Mattila got control of the ball when Nicklas Soned tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pekko Mattila took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Minas Alexiou, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Hammarby Talang FF fans cheered their team off the field, for while U.S. Soccer Academy had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
