After having played for 3 minutes, Östen Ekerot managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Överlida's supporters crossed their fingers, but Östen Ekerot was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Malcolm Rosin fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Syrianska FC's protests and gave Malcolm Rosin a yellow card for diving instead. Malcolm Rosin hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. A hard shot 9 in the game by Stig-Arne Engman from a close distance when the talented Ulf Lundqvist managed to make a qualified save. Syrianska FC's players were relieved. Östen Ekerot fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulf Lundqvist having to interfere. A collision led to Överlida getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Östen Ekerot hit a great ball. Överlida:s Simão Vianna showed great skill when he stopped Markus Fridlund:s penalty. After some careless play in the Överlida defense, Markus Fridlund kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Simão Vianna. The Överlida fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Simão Vianna should have stopped the shot. Syrianska FC's Ulf Lundqvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bo Nordin in the 26th minute of play. After 29 minutes of play, Syrianska FC's Stefan Ekström made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Simão Vianna was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Stefan Ekström in the 32nd minute of play forced Överlida's goalkeeper Simão Vianna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ulf Lundqvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bo Nordin, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. With a little luck, Syrianska FC's Ulf Lundqvist got control of the ball when Östen Ekerot tried to sneak it across the goal line. Syrianska FC's Stefan Ekström got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Simão Vianna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ture Dahlberg in the 46th minute of play.

Torbjörn Sundström kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. 63 minutes into the match, Överlida's goalkeeper Simão Vianna had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Torbjörn Sundström. After some careless play in the Överlida defense, Torbjörn Sundström kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Simão Vianna. The Överlida fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Simão Vianna should have stopped the shot. Torbjörn Sundström could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Simão Vianna made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Torbjörn Sundström got free with Simão Vianna in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ulf Lundqvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Östen Ekerot, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Bo Nordin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulf Lundqvist having to interfere. If Bo Nordin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bo Nordin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Syrianska FC getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Martin Lindström hit a great ball. The supporters of Syrianska FC booed when Överlida was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bo Nordin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Chants of Syrianska FC echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Överlida had held the ball for most of the match.
