Peder Överman hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. If Sven-Olof Mikaelsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 5th match minute, Tibro IK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hjalmar Nordal to maneuver through the defense. In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tibro IK's goalkeeper Marcus Haraldsson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Göran Wennerquist hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Tibro IK's zone, Jack Ekeroth stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcus Haraldsson came out of the goal and Jack Ekeroth tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jack Ekeroth received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Marcus Haraldsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 14th minute, Jack Ekeroth ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcus Haraldsson was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 17 minutes into the game, Claes Åström was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tibro IK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vänge IK the free kick. After a rather tough play, Tibro IK's Claes Åström got a free kick in the 17th minute. A collision led to Vänge IK getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Björn Hedvall hit a great ball. Patrik Lenberg's late challenge caught a Vänge IK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Patrik Lenberg helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Vänge IK booed when Tibro IK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patrik Lenberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Erik Bagge's shot from long distance was a real pearl which went to the right and just passed Marcus Haraldsson - 0-2 was put on the score board in the 25th minute. Charles Glanselius stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sven-Olof Mikaelsson's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Roger Gråberg made a kick off. In the 61st minute Roger Gråberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcus Haraldsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Roger Gråberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Marcus Haraldsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jack Ekeroth could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Marcus Haraldsson made a huge save. Peder Överman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcus Haraldsson having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roger Gråberg in the 77th minute of play forced Tibro IK's goalkeeper Marcus Haraldsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jack Ekeroth was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 83rd minute. Vänge IK's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The supporters of Tibro IK booed when Vänge IK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Malte Glad didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vänge IK's Charles Glanselius played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christer Berglund in the 96th minute of play. Vänge IK's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
