Spectators: 6657 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1657, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Leif Albom kicked off to start the match. Philip Mellberg's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but David Åkesson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. A collision led to Insjön BK getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Harald Viberg hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Philip Mellberg in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg David Åkesson saved Manchester United from getting behind. Jimmie Andberg might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Esbjörn Rosen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jimmie Andberg ran back to his position shaking his head. Edvard Nordlund charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Edvard Nordlund the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 21 played minutes Manchester United got a freekick which was hit by Edvard Nordlund. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sven-Ove Sellberg during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 22nd minute, Sven-Ove Sellberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mats Winström was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 23rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. If Philip Mellberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. David Åkesson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leif Albom in the 28th minute of play. Örjan Telin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Esbjörn Rosen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Philip Mellberg in the 34th minute of play forced Manchester United's goalkeeper David Åkesson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 35 minutes into the game, Insjön BK's Leif Albom nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. David Åkesson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After 41 played minutes Manchester United got a freekick which was hit by Sven-Ove Sellberg. Philip Mellberg might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over David Åkesson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Philip Mellberg ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 48th minute, Philip Mellberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After the first half Insjön BK were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jimmie Andberg was the one to do the kick off. Esbjörn Rosen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jimmie Andberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Insjön BK booed when Manchester United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isak Jakobsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. 64 minutes into the match, Manchester United's goal looked a bit too open when Leif Albom came free, but David Åkesson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 71st minute, Göran Gunnarsson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Insjön BK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. In the 74th minute, Philip Mellberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 80th minute, Insjön BK's Leif Albom dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-4. In the 90th minute, Stig-Åke Ennegren fired a really elegant long shot, but David Åkesson threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. Philip Mellberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Manchester United's zone, Göran Gunnarsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. David Åkesson came out of the goal and Göran Gunnarsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
