The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ture Brenner made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nils-Erik Jansson in the 5th minute of play. After 9 played minutes IFK Göteborg got a freekick which was hit by Mustafa Oğuz Özbilek. Ture Brenner took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nils-Erik Jansson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Norråker's Ronny Pihlgren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Peder Söderlund in the 15th minute of play. With his leg Ture Brenner managed to avoid a goal in the 16thth minute, when Norråker's Roy Björklund fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Roy Björklund could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Ture Brenner made a huge save.
