The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Guldsmedshyttan's Dick Vidman got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 4 minutes into the game, George Magnusson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Guldsmedshyttan's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Svenljunga IF the free kick. George Magnusson hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Guldsmedshyttan's Olof Lundgren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tobias Lundin in the 9th minute of play. Östen Åkesson hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Evert Gulliksson during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 21st minute of the match Lennart Månsson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Emil Hydén showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 22nd minute, Tomas Liljeström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 23rd match minute, Svenljunga IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tobias Lundin to maneuver through the defense. Olof Lundgren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tobias Lundin in the 30th minute of the match. Emil Hydén made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karl-Michael Åkesson in the 31st minute of play. When Dick Vidman came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Guldsmedshyttan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dick Vidman couldn't finish the play. Emil Hydén made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karl-Michael Åkesson in the 34th minute of play. After having played for 36 minutes, Karl-Michael Åkesson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guldsmedshyttan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Karl-Michael Åkesson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Tomas Liljeström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Karl-Michael Åkesson to strike the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Karl-Michael Åkesson in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Emil Hydén prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Svenljunga IF's Evert Gulliksson got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Emil Hydén stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Karl-Michael Åkesson's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. Dick Vidmans short, quick shot in the 59thth minute got Emil Hydén to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Emil Hydén showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Karl-Michael Åkesson in the 60th minute of the match. When Karl-Michael Åkesson came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Guldsmedshyttan fans jumped to their feet. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Dick Vidman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Guldsmedshyttan's supporters rose to their feet, but Dick Vidman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emil Hydén breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 69 played minutes Karl-Michael Åkesson rounded Svenljunga IF's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-1. After 77 minutes, Dick Vidman mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Guldsmedshyttan and the Svenljunga IF players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Guldsmedshyttan's Dick Vidman got a free kick in the 77th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Svenljunga IF's zone, Dick Vidman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emil Hydén came out of the goal and Dick Vidman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Evert Gulliksson hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Guldsmedshyttan's Lennart Månsson couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Svenljunga IF. Carl Biörnberg kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Karl-Michael Åkesson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emil Hydén having to interfere. With a little luck, Svenljunga IF's Emil Hydén got control of the ball when Dick Vidman tried to sneak it across the goal line. Emil Hydén took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Karl-Michael Åkesson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Emil Hydén made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dick Vidman in the 91st minute. Dick Vidman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emil Hydén having to interfere. Guldsmedshyttan's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
