Mellerud's Egil Jernberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Mellerud from getting a goal against them. Egil Jernberg didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Kvillsfors IF's Mikael Ljungberg shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-0 in the ordered_time% minute. After a defensive mix-up in Mellerud's zone, Viktor Högberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Egil Jernberg came out of the goal and Viktor Högberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 32 minutes into the game, Kjell Askberg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mellerud's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kvillsfors IF the free kick. After 32 played minutes Mellerud got a freekick which was hit by Kjell Askberg. In the 35th minute, Viktor Högberg reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Egil Jernberg. The goal made the score 2-0. 40 minutes into the match, Kvillsfors IF's Viktor Högberg sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Egil Jernberg narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 42 minutes into the match, Mellerud's Mark Wallman sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Erik Brandin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Egil Jernberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mikael Ljungberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mikael Ljungberg in the 47th minute of play forced Mellerud's goalkeeper Egil Jernberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The Kvillsfors IF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. After having played for 79 minutes, Mikael Ljungberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kvillsfors IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mikael Ljungberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mikael Ljungberg took the ball and in the 81 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Egil Jernberg. Egil Jernberg dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. After a defensive mix-up in Mellerud's zone, Mikael Ljungberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Egil Jernberg came out of the goal and Mikael Ljungberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Egil Jernberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mikael Ljungberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. After 94 minutes of play, Kvillsfors IF's Mikael Ljungberg made it 5-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Egil Jernberg was left in no man's land by his defense there! It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Kvillsfors IF had played much better football throughout.
