The tension between the Ankeborg IF and the Assyriska players grew even worse after the yellow card. Urban Bergström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Herman Lundberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ingvar Ahlrot in the 19th minute of play forced Assyriska's goalkeeper Esbjörn Böcklund to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Esbjörn Böcklund showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Per-Arne Klemensson in the 20th minute of the match. After 23 minutes, Per-Arne Klemensson made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Assyriska's Esbjörn Böcklund tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When Bertil Kihlberg came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Ankeborg IF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bertil Kihlberg couldn't finish the play. In the 39thth minute of the game Per-Arne Klemensson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Assyriska's Esbjörn Böcklund was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 41 played minutes Assyriska got a freekick which was hit by Christopher Hydén. Esbjörn Böcklund made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Per-Arne Klemensson in the 45th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Bertil Kihlberg hit a great ball. Assyriska's Esbjörn Böcklund played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kurt Fransson in the 86th minute of play. Ankeborg IF's Ingvar Ahlrot got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kurt Fransson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Esbjörn Böcklund tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Vidar Burman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ankeborg IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Vidar Burman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Esbjörn Böcklund breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kurt Fransson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
