In the 19th minute Henric Wiberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kim Lundström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 24 minutes into the match, Wolverhampton Wanderers's goalkeeper Filiph Ros had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sonny Wiklund. Dikanäs were awarded a corner in the 26th minute after Wolverhampton Wanderers's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Björn Beckman took the corner. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The supporters of Wolverhampton Wanderers booed when Dikanäs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elliot Löfskog didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 60th minute Boris Västerstrand shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filiph Ros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 61 minutes into the match, Sonny Wiklund had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Filiph Ros. Wolverhampton Wanderers's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sonny Wiklund was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Sonny Wiklund received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Filiph Ros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Henric Wiberg was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 87th minute. Wolverhampton Wanderers's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Boris Västerstrand fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filiph Ros having to interfere. If Henric Wiberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
