A very good chance. Bo-Erik Sikström's late challenge caught a Besiktas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bo-Erik Sikström helped the player get up and apologised. Bo-Erik Sikström kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Frank Westerberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Peter Pilblad, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. 31 minutes into the match, Besiktas's goal looked a bit too open when Oskar Ström came free, but Frank Westerberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Frank Westerberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rolf Sandberg in the 38th minute of play. In the 39th minute of the match, Peter Pilblad got a very nice opportunity to score, but Frank Westerberg was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 53rd minute Peter Pilblad shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frank Westerberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Besiktas's Frank Westerberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rolf Sandberg in the 54th minute of play. After 59 minutes, Joseph Almstedt mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Besiktas and the IS Halmia players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Besiktas booed when IS Halmia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bo-Erik Sikström didn't get a good kick on the ball. Håkan Bryngelsson struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Frank Westerberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for IS Halmia. Georg Malmström came out of the goal and Sven-Olof Söderström tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 95th minute, Peter Pilblad ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Frank Westerberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0.
