The audience thought a goal was coming when Lars-Erik Carlsson got free with Dag Gustafsson in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 11 minutes into the match, Egil Löfdahl had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sven-Ove Utfal. Viking Rangers's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Egil Löfdahl was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. A collision led to Sydkoster getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Sverker Lange hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fred Jönsson in the 16th minute of play forced Sydkoster's goalkeeper Dag Gustafsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sven-Ove Utfal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Harald Fernström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sydkoster were furious when Gert Andersson was red carded, 20 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Sydkoster:s Dag Gustafsson showed great skill when he stopped Lars-Erik Carlsson:s penalty. The corner ended in Alf Bålström almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Sydkoster's Dag Gustafsson did a great save. With a little luck, Sydkoster's Dag Gustafsson got control of the ball when Tomas Söder tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dag Gustafsson was a little too slow when Jan-Åke Öman got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 26th minute. The score was now 1-1. Sydkoster's Dag Gustafsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan-Åke Öman in the 36th minute of play. The supporters of Viking Rangers booed when Sydkoster was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sverker Lange didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fred Jönsson in the 38th minute of play forced Sydkoster's goalkeeper Dag Gustafsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 42 minutes into the game, Tomas Söder recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Dag Gustafsson. Tomas Söder showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. Sven-Ove Utfal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arda Göksel Sözen in the 46th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Arda Göksel Sözen was the one to do the kick off. After 55 played minutes Sydkoster got a freekick which was hit by Sebastian Hylander. In the 58th minute, Fred Jönsson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dag Gustafsson was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Sydkoster's Dag Gustafsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fred Jönsson in the 61st minute of play. Viking Rangers's Tomas Söder got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sven-Ove Utfal was out of position in the 64 minute of play, and Arda Göksel Sözen capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Arda Göksel Sözen really showed his touch with that goal: 3-2. Freddie Brandt kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Dag Gustafsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lars-Erik Carlsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. 80 minutes into the match, Tomas Söder notched a goal, 4-2, to the right of Sydkoster's Dag Gustafsson. Dag Gustafsson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With 83 minutes on the clock, Alf Bålström commited a dangerous tackle.
