Sten Blom didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Knut Vikström went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. With a little luck, Green Flame Club's Edwin van der Sar got control of the ball when Hamílton Carvalho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Hamílton Carvalho came free with the goalkeeper in the 33rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Edwin van der Sar could save by the left post. Sven Österberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Edwin van der Sar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Knut Vikström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Sven Österberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. The Orientals's supporters rose to their feet, but Sven Österberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edwin van der Sar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hamílton Carvalho made a kick off. In the 54thth minute of the game Knut Vikström who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but The Orientals's Sten Blom was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in The Orientals's zone, Sebastian Biörnberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sten Blom came out of the goal and Sebastian Biörnberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, The Orientals's Göran Kihlberg got a free kick in the 57th minute. 2-1 became the score in the 59th minute when Sven Österberg elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 62nd minute, Elliott Ståhlberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Isaac Nyberg's late challenge caught a The Orientals's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Isaac Nyberg helped the player get up and apologised. In the 64th match minute, Green Flame Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isaac Nyberg to maneuver through the defense. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind Green Flame Club's goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The Orientals:s Sten Blom showed great skill when he stopped Sebastian Biörnberg:s penalty. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Green Flame Club's Knut Vikström in the 81st minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Sten Blom was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for The Orientals through an amazing save. Sebastian Biörnberg in the 83rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Sten Blom, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Sven Österberg might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edwin van der Sar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out.
